Back & Neck Pain Questions
Your pain experience is unique to you, so your relief time is individual as well. The amount of time it takes for the effect of chiropractic care to work depends on the nature of the original injury, patient’s general health, prior injuries, treatment plan and of course the patient. Some patients feel immediate relief while others take more time for the body to heal. Typically, broken bones take 5-6 weeks to recover, torn ligaments or tendons take 6-8 weeks and discs could take at least 3 months to recover.
Chiropractic adjustments help improve spinal motion, correct your body’s alignment and improve your body’s physical function. Research shows that chiropractic adjustments along with exercise is especially effective at reducing pain in the lower back.
An adjustment is a procedure in which a chiropractor uses their hands or a small instrument to apply a controlled, sudden force to a spinal joint or extremity joint. The goal of this procedure is to improve motion of the joint, correct your body’s alignment and improve your body’s physical function.
